🥃 SIGNATORY COASTAL 50 YEAR OLD MANY BELIEVE IT TO BE A 50YR BUNNAHABHAIN!
A HALF-CENTURY OF MATURATION FROM ONE OF SCOTLAND’S MOST RESPECTED INDEPENDENT BOTTLERS
Bottled by Signatory, one of the most trusted names in independent whisky, this astonishing 50 Year Old single malt carries the unmistakable character of a coastal distillery, shaped by decades resting near the sea air. Half a century in the cask has produced a whisky of rare depth and distinction—the kind of release most collectors only ever read about.
Expect a whisky of remarkable complexity: notes of salted caramel, dried orchard fruit, antique oak, gentle brine and warming spice, all carried on an exceptionally smooth, lingering finish that only fifty years of quiet maturation can create.
Bottlings of this age are exceptionally rare, produced in tiny numbers and rarely seen at auction, let alone in a prize draw. This is a genuine once-in-a-generation opportunity to win a bottle that represents the very pinnacle of whisky maturation.

DRAW DETAILS
When the final ticket is gone, so is your chance.
A 50-year-old Signatory Coastal. A whisky most drinkers will only ever hear about, never taste. A bottle that represents the true rarity of extended maturation.
Only 899 chances stand between you and one of the most extraordinary bottles ever to enter the Vault.
Once The Keeper seals this Vault, it won’t be opened again.
Most whisky is bottled by the distillery that made it. Independent bottlers work differently. They buy casks from distilleries, mature and select them, and bottle the best under their own name. Some of the rarest and most exciting whiskies in the world come from independent bottlers.
Signatory Vintage is one of the most respected names among them. It was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington, who had previously managed the Prestonfield House Hotel in Edinburgh. His very first bottling was a 1968 Glenlivet matured in sherry casks. The company started out with a bottling plant in Newhaven, Edinburgh.
In 2002 Signatory bought the tiny Edradour distillery in Perthshire from Pernod Ricard and moved all of its operations north, building a new bottling plant and warehouses beside the distillery.
This bottle belongs to Signatory's Old School Single Malt 50 Year Old, Coastal Edition. It is a single malt from Islay that has spent half a century in the cask, an extraordinary age for any whisky.
The release came out in small batches through 2025 and 2026, each drawn from a single Oloroso sherry butt:
With fewer than 700 bottles in each batch, these are genuinely rare whiskies.
Signatory doesn't name the distillery on the label, which is common for independent bottlings. The "Coastal" name and the Islay origin are the only clues. Many whisky fans and reviewers believe it is Bunnahabhain, one of the few coastal distilleries thought to have enough 50-year-old stock. That has never been officially confirmed, which only adds to the bottle's appeal.
If the theory is right, the whisky comes from one of Islay's most remote distilleries. Bunnahabhain was founded in 1881 near Port Askaig, and its name comes from the Gaelic Bun na h-Abhainne, meaning "mouth of the river". A whole village was built to house its workers, and for decades supplies arrived only by ship, until a road was built in 1960. Bunnahabhain is known as one of the gentler, milder Islay whiskies, a style that suits very long ageing in sherry casks.
If you assume a 50-year age, this whisky would have been distilled in the mid-1970s. That's half a century in the cask, while whisky trends came and went. Over that time the oak softens the spirit into something waxy, refined and deeply layered.
