Distilled at Strathclyde in 1990 and matured for an incredible 35 years, this is a properly aged single grain whisky bottled by Duncan Taylor as part of its sought-after The Octave range.
After more than three decades in cask, it was finished in a small Oloroso Sherry Octave, adding extra richness and depth to the naturally soft, mature character of the whisky.
Expect notes of dark chocolate, coffee, honeyed oak, dried fruit and gentle spice, all wrapped in the silky texture you would expect from a whisky of this age.
What really gives this bottle its scarcity is the fact it comes from single cask #6444039. There is no ongoing batch behind it and no identical replacement once the bottles from this cask have sold through.
