16 years of Glenfiddich craftsmanship. Aston Martin F1 performance. One incredible limited edition waiting in the Vault. 🔐🏎️🥃
Glenfiddich was founded in 1886 by William Grant in Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside, in the glen of the River Fiddich. Its name comes from the Gaelic Gleann Fhiodhaich, meaning "valley of the deer", which is why a stag appears on every bottle. The first spirit ran from its stills on Christmas Day 1887.
Glenfiddich is owned by William Grant & Sons and is still run by William Grant's descendants, now in their fifth generation. The distillery draws its water from the nearby Robbie Dhu springs and runs 43 copper pot stills, cared for by its own team of coppersmiths.
Glenfiddich did more than most to put single malt Scotch on the map, starting to market it in the United States back in 1963. Today it is described as the world's best-selling single malt, sold in around 180 countries.
In November 2024 Glenfiddich announced a multi-year partnership with the Aston Martin Formula One Team. To celebrate the first year, it launched two limited-edition whiskies in September 2025: a 16 Year Old released worldwide, and a 19 Year Old for airport shops only.
The partnership celebrates the balance between skill and human instinct, both on the track and in the warehouse. At Glenfiddich, malt master Brian Kinsman nose-checks every whisky before it leaves the distillery.
The 16 Year Old brings together three types of cask:
It is bottled at 43% ABV in co-branded Glenfiddich and Aston Martin F1 packaging. A second, different 16 Year Old followed in August 2026 for the partnership's second year, so this bottle is Release No. 1.
